L E G E N D S:
A SECRET HISTORY OF THE WORLD
LEGENDS is a weekly speculative documentary television series, offered in 13
one hour episodes. The series will take a fresh look at the mysteries of our
past. We'll search obscure texts, forgotten lore and the oral traditions.
Every week viewers will be challenged to see antiquity in a new and
controversial light. The series will take the accepted "facts" of
archaeology, science and history, exposing them as unproved theories. Our
talking heads will be the renegades of the scientific world. Their testimony
will reveal the truth behind accepted "facts" such as the Egyptology's
Dynastic chart or Ptolemy's "Canon of History". We'll reveal how science
builds entire histories based on such bogus timetables, hoping something
better will come along.
Here is a brief synopsis of LEGENDS'
Treasures of the Copper Scroll
Discovered among the Caves of Qumran in 1952 this ancient document was
unique among the previous scrolls found along the coast of the Dead Sea.
Unlike the other finds, it details a fabulous inventory of gold and silver
treasures from the Temple of Solomon. Recent analysis of the Copper Scroll
has yielded new information such as the names of its five ancient scribes .
This segment features an exclusive interview with the Mohammed Adh-Dhib, the
Bedouin who first stumbled upon the Dead Sea Scrolls. For the first time, he
reveals the truth behind this momentous discovery
Joseph and the Pyramid Age
He was sold into bondage only to scale the heights of power in ancient
Egypt. Architect, Mathematician and Physician, Joseph even engineered
channels from the Nile to create an oasis. This dreamer saved a nation from
famine, and led his country into the Golden Age of Pyramids. Where is his
story in the Egyptian annals? LEGENDS demonstrates how the impact of this
Hebrew sage caused him to be deified as Ptahotep, an Egyptian god. His
monuments still stand today.
The Fallen Ones
One of the most intriguing passages in the Book of Genesis tells of a race
of ante-diluvian giants known as the Nephilim. LEGENDS uncovers incredible
parallels between these "fallen ones" and the Titans of Greek lore. Is it
possible that Mythology's Vul-can (weapons-maker to the gods) and the
Bible's pre-flood Tu-vul Cain (skilled in metallurgy) are one and the same?
The Riddle of the Exodus - Part One
Israel's struggle to free itself from harsh bondage and its eventual
salvation is a seminal event in Jewish history. Historians say there is no
record in the annals of Ramses the Great of this epic tale. But the vivid
testimony of oral Jewish traditions reveal Ramses was not the Pharaoh of the
Exodus. Historians have simply been looking in the wrong time frame.
LEGENDS challenges long-held views by exposing the glaring discrepancies of
the present dating system. This startling segment gives us clues to one of
histories greatest mysteries: what caused the destruction of Egypt's Sixth
Dynasty? Never-before-seen Egyptian artifacts and age-old Jewish records
divulge the truth of the Exodus story.
The Riddle of the Exodus - Part Two
LEGENDS cameras travel to Saqqara to see the tomb of the Pharaoh who first
oppressed the Israelites, a King who ruled 94 years! We'll examine obscure
Hebrew texts that describe the Pharaoh of the Exodus as an evil and
misshapen dwarf. We'll read the fading Ippur Papyrus which describes in
haunting words, a year of terrible plagues on Egypt. And we'll trek to
Ismalia to view a 3,000 year old stele. On it, we'll see hieroglyphics that
describe the parting of the Sea for "the enemies of the Pharaoh"
Fiery Chariots - UFO's in Antiquity
The chronicles of India known as the Rig Vedas called them Vimanas. The
Israelites called them Merkahvot. We call them flying saucers. They have
been sighted since recorded history. The LEGENDS researchers track this
phenomena from the past to the present. Curiously, a mass of sightings
always precede a momentous change in Israel's history and it's happening again.
The Sweat of the Sun, The Tears of the Moon
For hundreds of years, the Inca of South American had lived peacefully,
mining the rich deposits of precious ore from the Andes. In their native
tongue, they called gold and silver "the sweat of the sun, the tears of the
moon." Eventually, tales of their vast wealth brought swarms of Spaniards to
rob and plunder. The Inca fled to their last stronghold in Ecuador's
mythical valley of Vilcabamba. Now, the LEGEND cameras track their
descendants who still live in the region today. They are a people who,
remarkably, live well past one hundred years of age.
The Lost City of Ubar
For over 3,000 years, caravans whispered stories of a vast city swallowed by
the raging desert sands. A tale lost in the mists of time until modern
technology revealed the hidden "Atlantis of the Desert". The LEGENDS
cameras take you the site of this ancient metropolis that literally sank
into the sea of sand.
Who Were the Shepherd Kings?
The shadowy period of ancient Egypt known as the Middle Kingdom was a time
of constant turmoil and unrelenting warfare. The dominant power in this era
was the mysterious Hyksos, the so-called Shepherd Kings. New research
dispels the concept that they were of Hebrew origin. Now, LEGENDS reveals
the identity of these blood-thirsty despots who hacked off the limbs of
their captives and worshipped strange gods.
The Gate of the Gods
The Biblical Tower of Babel was built by Nimrod , hoping to survive another
Flood. Before the Tower's destruction, it took an entire year to move a
stone to the top. The base of the Tower was so wide, walking around it was
a three day journey. Archaeology says this fabled site is among the fallen
ziggurats of modern-day Iraq. Thanks to a new understanding of nearly
forgotten texts, the Tower can be pinpointed in Turkey as a massive ruin
known as Nimrud Dahg. Follow the LEGENDS cameras as we reveal the
astonishing remains of this structure. To circle its foundation, on foot, is
still a three day journey!
Gilgal - The Plymouth Rock of Israel
After 40 years in the Wilderness, the 12 Tribes followed the Levite Priests
across the River Jordan to their new home. They encamped east of Jericho,
setting out to conquer the Land. Three thousand years later, using satellite
technology, an American archaeologist uncovers a stone wall. Is this the
structure that surrounded Israel's Holy Tabernacle that housed the Ark of
the Covenant.
The Queen Who Became Pharaoh
She was called Hatshetsup, ruler of Egypt's Upper Kingdom. This lovely
sovereign would often dress as a male pharaoh. A woman before her time, she
journeyed far and wide to make alliances and build her nation's wealth. New
evidence offers startling proof that this beautiful monarch was the
celebrated Queen of Sheba.
Petra - Lost City of Giants
This fortress-city was forgotten for thousands of years until the 1800's.
British adventurer Sir Richard Burton, disguised as a wandering nomad,
entered its vaulted cliffs and found "a rose-red city half as old as time."
Petra was a fortress city carved from the living rock and once home to
nearly 6,000 Nabateans. Before the Nabateans, before the Edomites, the
secret history tells us that this visually arresting site was the home of
the Anakim, the Giants of antiquity
